Introductory Sermon

1. God and Noah - "Will you ever flood the world again?" "No. One day I will show the world just how much I love it--so much that I will not spare my most prized possession."

2. God and Abraham - "First you promise me a son. Then you make me wait for years. Now you ask me to kill him?" "No, Abraham, to offer him as a sacrifice."

3. God and Moses (Burning Bush) - "Why don't YOU just go right down to Egypt and lead them out of slavery and death?" "One day I will deliver them from slavery to sin. I will die for them, for all people."

4. God and Moses (Ten Commandments) - "About 53 good rules and regulations ought to do it!" "No, Moses, about ten good, solid pieces of wisdom will do."

5. Mary, Mary Magdalene, and John at the Cross - "Beginning? Mary, what are you talking about?" "He suffered on the tree for us. You see, it is indeed the beginning, not the end."
